Urban tele-density in India grew to 154.01%,whereas rural tele-density to 51.37%

In a recent report released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) ,The total telephone subscriber base in the country rose marginally in March to 105.88 cr. on the back of growth in wireless as well as wireline users. The overall user base stood at 105.18 cr. at the end of February.The wireless subscriber base increased by 0.68% to 103.36 crore at the end of March, from 102.66 crore last month. As for the wireline, the subscriber base arrested its decline and rose marginally to 2.522 crore at the end of March, from 2.521 crore in February. The overall tele-density in the country went up to 83.36% at the end of March, from 82.89% last month. The urban tele-density grew to 154.01% and rural tele-density to 51.37%. In the wireless space, private access service providers held 91.30% market share whereas BSNL and MTNL accounted for only 8.70%.In wire line though, the two state-run companies enjoy a market share of 72.42% while private operators’ stood at 27.58%...

HPE spins off its Services Business, merges it with CSC

A surprise announcement made on Tuesday saw Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) spinning off its technology services division by merging it off with Computer Sciences Corp (CSC), an American company. The outsourcing and management services deal that follows the split of Hewlett-Packard Co. last October will have HPE owning half of the new company. HPE CEO Meg Whitman will be on the new company’s board, and HPE and CSC will each nominate half of the board members. CSC’s current CEO, Mike Lawrie, will become CEO of the new company. Nokia brand mobile phones to be manufactured globally by HMD

The company has signed a strategic brand and intellectual property licensing agreement enabling HMD to create Nokia-branded mobile phones and tablets for the next ten years.
