Dell sells Software Group to Finance EMC acquisition

A technology focused equity partner Francisco Partners, along with Elliott Management Corporation (an American hedge fund management firm) has signed an agreement with Dell to acquire the Dell Software Group . The agreement enhances the business portfolios with the addition of Dell Software’s diverse combination of security, systems and information management and data analytics solutions. The transaction includes Dell’s Systems and Information Management (SIM), Security, and Advanced Analytics business units. The price of the deal is not disclosed yet. Hopefully, Dell will get a good price from this deal, estimated to be above $2 billion.
