VMware has announced that it will become the first unified endpoint management (UEM) provider with full Chrome device management capabilities. Global sales of smartphones to end-users totalled 366.2 million units in the second quarter of 2017, a 6.7-per cent increase over the second quarter of 2016, according to Gartner, Inc. In the smartphone operating system market, Android extended its lead with 87.7-per cent market share, while iOS accounted for 12.1 per cent.  "Although demand for utility smartphones remains strong, there is a growing demand in emerging markets for 4G smartphones, with more storage, better processors and more advanced cameras. Google has confirmed that the latest Android 8.0 is known Android Oreo which was earlier known as Android O. As per news source, Samsung has plans to announce the update of its Notebook 9 portfolio next month. It will boast of Intel 8th generation processor which will enhance its performance and efficiency. For its eight generation of its Core chips, Intel is sticking to the Kaby Lake architecture but as far as its performance goes, the internal testing looks quite promising. The company says the chips are capable of a 40-percent increase over their predecessors - and even more notable for those finally ready to upgrade an old system: about double the performance of a five year old device.  The performance boost comes as laptop makers are expected to increasingly push the envelope with their systems. Now that the mobile has been completely out of Intel’s radar thanks to companies like Qualcomm, Intel is clearly looking to maintain its foothold in the laptop market. Infosys and Purdue University build strategic alliance for technology innovation and US workforce development and with this alliance it will foster engagement and innovation on cybersecurity, biopharma analytics, autonomous mobility, digital agriculture, artificial intelligence and data analytics.  Purdue University is entering into a five-year agreement with Infosys (NYSE: INFY), a global leader in consulting, technology and next-generation services. As part of the agreement, Purdue will provide classes and training for many of the 10,000 American employees that Infosys will hire over the next two years, 2,000 of whom will be based in Indiana. The MD and CEO of Infosys, Dr Vishal Sikka has stepped down from his position with immediate effect. After the recent escalation in number of security issues and to ensure the security of Smartphones, the IT ministry has asked 21 Smartphone manufacturers to share the procedures and processes they follow to fortify the security of data and Smartphones vended in India. According to the reports, the ministry has given time till 28th August to the 21 Smartphone vendors out of which majority are Chinese manufacturers, namely Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Lenovo and Gionee besides the renowned brands like Apple and Samsung. The ministry has also notified the companies with penalties such as unlimited compensation depending on the damage caused under the IT Act 43 (A) in case fixed processes are not being followed.  The orders have come out after many international and national reports which pointed out the data leaks from Smartphones.... BT and Dell EMC have entered into a research collaboration dedicated to exploring a new way of managing network traffic.  The proof-of-concept trial, which is taking place at the BT Labs in Adastral Park, Suffolk, will explore how disaggregated switching can create flexible networks which are more responsive to customer needs by using standard open network switches commonly found in data centers, coupled with specialist switching software.  Neil J. Brian Krzanich, CEO-Intel has resigned from the American Manufacturing Council, the group set up by President Donald Trump to advise his government on issues related to manufacturing in the country, over current political climate in the US and alleged politics-driven hate crimes.  His resignation came days after Trump’s response to the violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia on 12 August.  Krzanich’s statement on his resignation from the American Manufacturing Council  “Earlier today, I tendered my resignation from the American Manufacturing Council.
