Fortinet has acquired AccelOps, a provider of network security monitoring and analytics solutions. The acquisition extends Fortinet’s recently announced Security Fabric strategy by enhancing network security visibility, security data analytics and threat intelligence across multi-vendor solutions. Microsoft shakes hand with LinkedIn Corp by signing a $26.2 billion acquisition deal. Despite of struggle by both the companies, it is expected to have a newer horizon for Microsoft’s Office suite as well as LinkedIn. To bring a high-performance open acceleration framework to data centers, Advanced Micro Devices, ARM, Huawei, IBM, Mellanox, Qualcomm Technologies Inc., and Xilinx, Inc. have collaborated. The companies are collaborating on the specification for the new Cache Coherent Interconnect for Accelerators (CCIX).  A single interconnect technology specification will ensure that processors using different  instruction set architectures (ISA) can coherently share data with accelerators and enable efficient heterogeneous computing – significantly improving compute efficiency for servers running data center workloads. “AMD strongly supports development of open standards to make heterogeneous computing more pervasive.
