Aircel witnesses 104% 3G revenue growth

With the aim to encourage people to adopt mobile internet in the country, Aircel has launched “Be Online with Aircel” initiative.

Sunil Kuttam, Vice-President – Marketing, Aircel, said, “Aircel is taking lead in the mobile internet space with renewed energy and vigour with its ‘Be Online with Aircel’ initiative. Data consumption by Aircel customers has seen a dramatic rise. Our unmatched offerings helped Aircel record 60-per cent data revenue growth and 65-per cent consumption growth in 2015. In addition, we witnessed 104-per cent growth in 3G revenues and 167-per cent growth in 3G users last year. This initiative has also fuelled smartphone adoption in our base, which has grown by 61 per cent.
